Snowboarding is a winter sport that requires descending a snow-covered surface while standing on a snowboard that is attached to the rider’s feet. India being blessed with the great Himalayas, have a myriad of sites for winter sports. Snowboarding while being covered with several woolens and heavy safety gear, in that chilling weather, might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but for some is the most fascinating experience. 

What you can expect from Snow Boarding-

Winter is the perfect time to engage in some heart-healthy exercise and shed some of those unwanted post-holiday pounds. The time to take action is now, no need to hibernate this season! Grab the family and head for a heart-pounding workout in the great outdoors that not only offers beautiful scenery and fun, but some serious health benefits, too.

Snowboarding helps you to become more social because of the snowboarding community. If you are a snowboarder, you might also be in a snowboarding community. And all the snowboarding communities arrange parties and hangouts frequently throughout the whole year. So basically, it forces you to become more social if you are not that social person. It is a fun, adventurous, have lots of enjoyment and can reduce your stress and anxiety.

Safety

Snowboarding is a great way to have fun and get exercise during cold winter. It is fairly easy to learn, but injuries do happen, follow these safety tips to help you stay safe on slopes.

  • A helmet that’s made for snowboarding, be sure it fits properly and keep the chin strap fastened

  • Know which slopes are right for your skill level and snowboard only on those. If you find yourself on a slope that is too difficult, keep your snowboard on and sidestep down the hill.

  • Stay on marked paths and never go past the snowboard area boundary or into a closed area.

  • Pay attention to warning signs such as “Slow skiing area” and “Caution.”

  • Before you start down a hill or merge onto a trail, look uphill to make sure no one is coming toward you.

Schedule

• Day 1 –
Basic and Advanced snowboarding camps have the same schedule for the first five days.
Upon arrival at the location in Manali, all the participants would be getting the snowboards and shoes as per their compatibility with the equipment.
Afterward, you will get an orientation course that includes the basic lessons of how to be comfortable on the board.
• Day 2 –
You would be taught how to balance, turn, or push brakes and other related techniques by the instructor.
• Day 3 –
In the morning, you would be taken to a bunny hill with a slight slope where you will start riding downhill and this is the time you can practice the lessons you learned the previous day.
• Day 4 –
You will be going to partake in a ride from the beginner slope.
An assistant instructor would help you ride downhill by leading from the front and the head instructor would assess each of you at the back.
By the end of today, you can be confident enough to partake in a decent ride with confidence.
• Day 5 –
On day 5, you would be at the level of participating on any beginner-level slopes.
After a free run, you will be led to a more challenging slope where you get to know in detail how to cross the challenges in the terrain.
Once you conclude this last phase, return back to your accommodation for a refreshing Sauna bath.
• Day 6 –
Advanced snowboarding camp consists of five days of basic camp and another four days.
All those who qualified for the basic level would be provided with day passes for the chair lift.
Today, you would be taken to indulge in high altitude snowboarding at 3200 meters.
En route, you would be facing multiple levels of challenges but with this ride, you will understand how to tackle backcountry slopes.
All basic qualified students would be provided with day passes for the chair lift and taken for high altitude snowboarding at 3200m. With numerous challenges in the route, students would be taught how to tackle back-country slopes.
• Day 7 –
On the 7th day as well, you will get the day pass to chair lifts.
It is the day for you to perfect the skills that you have acquired.
You would be taken to much higher altitudes to tackle more challenging trails.
The main instructor will be monitoring you to give you feedback.
• Day 8 –
Backcountry snowboarding would be taught today; the necessary techniques and points to be remembered would be explained today.
You will get lessons in everything from beacon to rescue training.
• Day 9 –
Hike to an advanced level peak at 4000 meters in the morning along with your equipment.
Then you can partake in a free run of 45 minutes to 1 hour.
By the end of the day, you will feel perfect in advanced snowboarding.
Return to your accommodation to relax with a Sauna bath.
